Senior HW Verification Engineer 

INTERA is a company that brings R&D around IoT to the market, providing innovative real-time monitoring and management solutions, and being involved in state-of-the-art national and international collaborative R&D projects in areas such as Energy, Health, and Computing.  

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a technically capable experienced engineer. We are looking for a profile with the knowledge to set up a methodology and bring up a complete verification framework for RTL designs, and lead other verification engineers towards this goal. The IPs to be verified to the highest quality levels are accelerators and co-processors based on RISC-V architecture and targeted to Artificial Intelligence applications in ultra-low-power devices. These IPs will be prototyped on FPGAs and fabricated in silicon technologies (ASICs). 

For the position, the candidate will be engaged in the following activities: 

  • Set and bring up a whole methodology and verification framework within the company 
  • Create and lead a small group of verification engineers and interact with the HW design team 
  • Verify RTL IPs to be used in production 
  • Assist in designing RISC-V firmware (Embedded C) to test HW accelerators in the full SoC system 
  • Perform FPGA prototyping with EDA tools and platforms such as Xilinx/Altera or similar 

Skills:  

  • PhD/BS/MS in Engineering with emphasis in Digital Design Verification.  
  • Advanced knowledge of at least one Hardware Description Language, preferably System Verilog 
  • Experience with HW simulators and synthesis tools 
  • Experience with an advanced verification methodology, as an example UVM 
  • Embedded C understanding for firmware development assistance 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and strong teamwork/collaboration 

Other desirable skills: 

  • Open-source development tools experience: Linux, GitHub, Makefiles, Python, etc 
  • Formal methods theoretical/practical background 
  • SW verification experience 
  • Mixed-signal experience
