AI Researcher in Digital Health 

INTERA Group is hiring a senior researcher to bring IoT R&D and real-time solutions to market in the Digital Health sector.

As part of the INTERA Group, NVISION specializes in bringing IoT-focused R&D to the market. The company delivers cutting-edge real-time monitoring and management solutions while actively participating in advanced national and international collaborative R&D projects across domains such as Energy, Health, and Computing. We are excited to offer an opportunity for a highly experienced researcher to join our growing Digital Health Unit as we continue to expand and innovate in this dynamic field. 

Work Assignments 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Conduct cutting-edge R&D on AI in healthcare-related systems with a focus on improving trustworthiness, explainability, accountability, transparency, and autonomy. 
  • Design, implement, and test novel Explainable AI models and algorithms using open access and/or proprietary heterogenous modalities, such as physiological and gas sensor data, electronic health records, 2D/3D images, gas chromatography / mass spectrometric data, questionnaires, and free text data. 
  • Carry out applied research on Federated Learning and Digital Twins. 
  • Ensure secure and efficient data handling. 
  • Collaborate closely with team members and clinical partners in different projects. 
  • Contribute to the conceptualization and development of AI-oriented R&D proposals. 
  • Disseminate R&D findings through publications in top-tier conferences and journals. 
  • Manage projects to ensure strategic alignment, resource efficiency, and timely delivery. 

Required Profile 

We seek talented, innovative, and self-motivated young scientists who are deeply committed to conducting high-quality, cutting-edge, and multidisciplinary research. Ideal candidates will bring fresh perspectives and new insights to complement and enhance the existing core expertise of INTERA. 

  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine/Deep Learning, or equivalent with background in biomedical engineering. 
  • Proven experience in knowledge- and AI- based clinical Decision Support Systems (DSS). 
  • Programming skills in Python and experience with using Machine Learning frameworks. 
  • Track record of publishing papers in high-quality journals and conferences. 
  • Highly motivated and a team player with excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to work across discipline boundaries. 
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.  

The following requirements will also be highly appreciated: 

  • Solid experience in dimensionality reduction, time series analysis, and Multimodal Data Fusion 
  • Knowledge in Swarm Learning  
  • Models’ implementation in Microsoft Azure environment. 
  • Basic knowledge of Ethical AI design and EU AI Act. 
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs). 
  • Fluent in Spanish and/or Catalan.
